Pond 2: George McRitchie

George's pond is 5ft deep hour glass shape approx 30ft long x 12 feet at its widest made with a butyl liner strengthened with a concrete ring. It holds 6,000 gallons. Currently he has 22 koi varying in length from 6" to 20" plus 5 large goldfish which were passed on to him by his clients (George is a vet)!. His pond has a Nexus filter with an "easy" fitting fed by 2 bottom drains and a sequence pump leading to both a waterfall and a return into the pond about 3 feet up from the bottom. There is a U.V filter plus 2 air pumps , one for the nexus and one for aeration thro' the dome on the bottom drain furthest from the waterfall.
George also has an isolation "tank" fabricated from plywood 8' x 4' x4' which is the very temporary home to his fish while he has tried to clean and disinfect his pond.
